Responsible Gaming

What This Page Is For

This page sets out general, practical advice about gambling sensibly and explains exactly what this site can and cannot do to help a reader manage that. It is a static page: there is no account, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing here can switch on a control or check one.

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an account held with an operator. They live at the destination a reader reaches after following an operator link, not on this page. Anyone who wants to set or use one has to do it there.

Age and Verification

The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Nobody's age is verified on this site, and no gambling takes place on it. Any age check happens at the destination site, after an operator link has been followed.

Each of the ten operator listings ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site — each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that point the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply, not anything published here.

Independent Help

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: begambleaware.org, gamblingtherapy.org and gamcare.org.uk. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, are set to nofollow, and open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites.

This site receives nothing when a reader follows one of those three links. They are provided simply as an independent source of help, and nothing more is claimed about what each organisation does.

Practical Advice

Decide the amount to spend before starting, and treat it as already spent the moment play begins. Deciding in advance removes the pressure of judging value in the moment, when losses can feel temporary and winnable back.

Never chase a loss. A loss that is chased tends to grow, because each attempt to recover it adds a fresh stake on top of the one already gone.

Keep gambling out of money that has been borrowed. Money that is owed elsewhere turns a leisure spend into a debt problem the moment it is lost.

Take breaks during play rather than only at the end. A short pause gives a chance to notice whether the session is still entertainment or has become something else.

Involve someone else early, before the situation feels serious. A second person can see patterns — time spent, money spent, mood afterwards — that are hard to judge from the inside.

What This Site Does Not Do

This site cannot set a limit, start a cooling-off period, apply self-exclusion or run a reality check for any reader. It has no login, no registration and no account of any kind, so there is nothing here to hold such a setting even if a reader wanted one.

No advertising or behavioural profiling network operates on these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader based on gambling behaviour shown elsewhere. Anyone who wants an account-level control has to arrange it directly with the operator, at the destination reached after following an operator link.
